The current Democratic Party is a disaster. They just lost the Presidency and Senate. The House is still up for grabs. Why? They don’t appear to be stupid but they do appear to be inept and cowardly. How so?

Well, unfortunately they are under the control of corporate campaign influencers. They ignore or do a pitifully poor job explaining vital issues to voters. Worse than that, they don’t fight for these issues. What issues? Let’s take a living wage coupled with health care for all and give it a full throated explanation. Let’s get private insurance out of the picture. Let’s address the fact that corporations have too much control over our lives, commit deadly (Boeing) crimes for which corporate crooks do not go to jail and receive non-disclosure judgements from courts. Let’s talk about the unfair tax system that allows corporations and wealthy individuals to pay little or no taxes. Let’s talk about the immigration system that punishes immigrants who are fleeing oppressive governments that are supported by US tax dollars. Let’s talk about the underfunding of education, child care, elder care, social security, medicare, safety regulations/product testing, government agencies and more. Let’s talk about the quest for empire abroad, bloated/unaudited military/defense budgets and idiotic foreign policy (Middle East, Ukraine, NATO, Korea, Taiwan). Let’s talk about breaking up big banks, big pharma, big ag and many other mega, anti-competitive/anti-consumer corporations. The above have majoritarian support as issues and they demand airing.

Biden projects weakness regarding what many are calling a genocide in Gaza and so does Harris. We provide Israel with a veto at the UN and we ship them WMD daily. Bernie Sanders and a few others voice strong opposition to all of this but they are marginalized by corporate media and Democratic Party leadership including Pelosi, Clyburn, Jeffries, Schumer and others. Harris refused to campaign with Sanders even though he had a landslide victory in Vermont. Scores of civic, grassroots community leaders have tried to talk with them but they are dismissed.

Instead they spend campaign money keeping people off ballots and attacking the miniscule Green Party. They totally ignored Gaza and the Americans who have families there. It cost them votes.They know that Trump is a figurehead for the Heritage Foundation and its Project 2025. They suspect that Trump will not last and they just helped elect Vance. Wow!

Their treatment or lack thereof of issues and their organizational efforts failed to get the vote out. They are party to a dictitorial corporate state that has abandoned half of the states, abandoned public media, dials for corporate dollars, doesn’t learn from their mistakes and doesn’t fire anybody when they lose. Most certainly they will blame Progressives instead of their own cowardice.

So what is left for we suckers (that’s how they think of us)? The House of Representatives is our last hope. It is our last defense. As of this writing it is up for grabs but it does not look good for Democrats. Stay tuned.

Update: While there are still some votes to count, it appears the Republicans have secured a majority! We need to look forward to 2026.
