A Modern Day Three Headed Beast

The lunatics who want to know, record, analyze, market, contrive and control every aspect of our lives are inching forward at lightning speed. Like Cerberus, Chimera, Azi Dahaka and other three headed mythological beasts, AI, Cryptocurrency and Data Centers have far more negative aspects than positive.
Like other modern technological devices/concepts, they are sold to and foisted on everyone by an infinitesimal cadre of futuristic technology geeks, control/power freaks and market shaping capitalists. Consider tv, computers, credit cards, internet and home shopping as examples of devices/concepts that were marketed to us as progressive, life changers. Not much was said about the negative and obvious consequences we are now experiencing.
Now, now, let’s not be Luddites! On the other hand we should not be like the Japanese monkeys (Mizaru, Kikazaru, and Iwazaru) who see, hear or speak no evil.
While the above three-headed tsunami has, according to some who will clearly benefit, positive outcomes for humanity, I see red flags everywhere. The purported benefits are more efficiency, increased productivity, 24/7 availability, advanced data analysis, enhanced decision making, reduced human error, less regulation and oversight, scientific/medical advances and consolidated information.
Great, sounds wonderful until you start drilling down. The biggest negative is that it cancels out humanity. It puts knowledge/power, on every level/discipline in the hands of very few people. It creates huge opportunities for a lack of transparency, bias, and discrimination. With enormous potential for misinformation and manipulation, it smacks of privacy violation and ethical dilemmas. The economic impacts will herald more income inequality, job displacement and a loss of human skills/connectivity. Hello, Andrew Yang! Do you remember his guaranteed income idea? Well, we had better role it out. AI, robotics, super-computers and crony, corporate welfare capitalism will both create the need and demand its implementation. Consumers are necessary.
Some final thoughts, the above dubious trifecta has ominous implications for privacy violations, cybersecurity threats, and weapons of war. Robotic spies and drones are already in use. Also, they require unbelievable quantities of energy, much of which is fossil fuels, that exacerbate our climate crisis. They use and dispose millions of computers creating mind boggling waste.
Finally, most people don’t know what they are!!!!!!!!!
