I have been a registered Democrat my entire life. While Party loyalty is a consideration, what is much more important is making sure candidates do what we send them to do. I often refer to this as “holding their feet to the fire.” Politicians are well known for saying one thing and then doing the opposite.

I have been following Josh Shapiro for decades. He has never hid his ambitious leanings. So, as a Democrat I paid attention. The guy wants to be President. I get it. However, I have serious concerns with him saying one thing and then doing the opposite. The following is an example.

Recently, I saw Governor Shapiro being interviewed by Reverend Al Sharpton. He was doing his best to come off “Presidential”. He said that the DNC needs to have an open debate/dialogue on where it is going and that they should follow something he does in Pennsylvania. He said that in Pennsylvania he believes in having real dialogue even with people you don’t agree with on every issue.

This is not true. Since taking office he has refused to have serious dialogue with a large group of statewide, grassroots environmental, community and economic organizations. These include but are limited to Delaware Riverkeeper Network led by Maya van Rossum and Tracy Carluccio, No False Climate Solutions, PA and Better Path Coalition led by Karen Feridun and Food and Water Watch, PA led by Ginny Marcille-Kerslake.

There are many issues but the most important is energy, specifically, “Fracking”.

He refuses, often citing scheduling conflicts. That is nonsense.

Walk the walk or don’t talk the talk. Feet to the fire.
