Greenfire Coalition was officially established in April 1990. At that time, the primary purpose of Greenfire was to insert a robust, alternative voice into issues that directly impacted quality of life in NEPA. This was accomplished through organizing and networking, public education and community service, lobbying on all government levels, testifying at public hearings, establishing lines of communication, providing support and organizational skills to grassroots community groups and, sometimes, direct action. Greenfire established a platform (Coalition) for individuals and community groups to address environmental, community and economic development issues. That era has passed. About Us
Greenfire’s purpose remains the same but it will expand its scope of topics and move beyond NEPA. This website will establish a Writers’ Forum. The Writers’ Forum will contain entries addressing current issues as well as entries with historical perspective.
The writers of the entries will be solely responsible for the content which Greenfire demands to be thoroughly researched and rooted in fact.
