I’m 75. That makes me part of a generation that once stood, at least in my mind, for changing the world. Not all but many of us pursued justice. Our music, clothes, swagger, opposition to Vietnam, quest for education and defiance of the “establishment” are well documented.

Many of us carried this into our adult lives. We exposed our children to a new way of thinking. We hoped for the best and we have, in many instances, been rewarded.

Now, as grandparents, we realize that we are not finished. Much to the chagrin of the “establishment”, we are living longer and healthier lives. Many of us are as feisty as ever. We are the proverbial stick in the spokes, stone in the shoe and tac on the seat of every brave new world lunatic bent on controlling every last aspect of our lives. They hate us.

I think our final Coup d’ ‘etat must be to call out the blatant injustices; war, poverty, environmental degradation, lack of self-determination and all of their many associated horrors. We must stop supporting the monied interests that promote and support these horrors. We all know that MONEY TALKS! Minimal research will help you develop an initial but growing list of entities; politicians and businesses that you should not support. BOYCOTTS WORK! STOP SUPPORTING THE BILLIONAIRE CLASS! CHECK YOUR STOCK/SAVINGS PORTFOLIOS!

Enough! You know the drill. Make it priority. Do it for your grandchildren. Throw your rebellious fist into the air one more time. Peace.
