Whether sneaky, blatant or subtle, the centrist Democrats are already disparaging the progressives. They are disgusting. Quite frankly, they are the reason America has Donald Trump and his “no bottom” approach to governing.
That’s right. You can point a crooked finger directly at them. They have been and are heavily influenced, you might say controlled, by a donor/consultant/corporate class that is not friendly to the working women and men of the United States.
The centrist Democrats have been in control of the Democrat Party for decades. They are merciless in their efforts to eviscerate any and all challengers to the corporate controlled centrists. They allow lobbyist groups such as AIPAC to heavily influence many elected officials on all levels of government. Most members of Congress are under the thumb of money/campaign/consultant groups that dictate a specific agenda. Stray from the agenda and you will be primaried.
Just ask Jerry Brown, Robert Casey, SR., Ralph Nader, Bernie Sanders, Ross Perot, John Anderson and many others. They go out of their way to eliminate all third party attempts to enter the fray. They routinely challenge petitions, attempt to bankrupt third party campaign funds and take challengers to court. Their goal is to limit choices for voters. They are the undemocratic Democrat Party.
They have blocked majoritarian supported positions on single payer health care, living wage proposals, elder and childcare initiatives, stronger environmental regulations, financial consumer efforts and much, much more. They are Republican lites.
Centrist Democrats always vote for bloated defense spending for an agency (Department of Defense) that has not been able to pass a law required audit. They have failed miserably at calling out the genocide in Gaza and the settler invasion in the West Bank. While they rightfully criticized Trump for lauding Putin in Alaska, they welcomed war criminal Netanyahu to the United States. They have been and are up to their knees in blood.
I attended the Columbia County Democrat breakfast this past Sunday. As I listened to the candidates speak, I realized that they are as centrist as the middle lines on a two way highway. They are very nice people but they made no mention of progressive ideas on health care, economic development or education. Of course, they are a better choice than Republicans. Shapiro is the same.
I could go on but the point has been made. Do some research. Chew on this.
