As a geezer, coot, codger, gaffer and yes, a pensioner, I engage in the battle of old age. It is a challenge that sneaks up on you. Watch out!
My problem is weight. At 6 foot,1 inch I can carry and hide weight. I’m a robust 260 pounds. According to the insurance industry my weight should be about 180-200 pounds. I wish!
I’m a vegan, athletic, non-drinker/smoker, etc. Basically, I’m healthy except for weight. I have tried everything except drugs. Currently, I’m experimenting with a fruit/vegetable smoothie regimen. I like it and I can tolerate, even enjoy it. So, here is a list of foods I’m experimenting with in varying combinations: cranberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, pomegranates, apples, guava, kiwi, avocado, garlic, ginger chia seeds, parsley, soy milk, protein powder, Vitamin C, water, cherries, cucumbers and carrots. Obviously there are many more fruits and vegetables I could incorporate.
Now, if I get hungry I’ll have a salad or lentil soup.
