I have known a few witch doctors in my time. In fact, I was married to a very charming one. Now, as I stretch into my upper seventies, I find myself following their advice.

To each his/her own but this “is what the witch doctor told me to do”.

First, don’t skimp on sleep. This is when healing and rejuvenation happen.

Second, eat a primarily plant based diet, organic if possible. The science is in.

Third, move. We are designed for motion. Nothing crazy. No injuries.

Fourth, practice deep breathing of fresh air, preferably forest/field/outside air.

Fifth, drink as much water as is comfortable. This is tricky. Find clean water.

Sixth, get an hour of sun per day, preferably between 8:30/10:30 or 4:30/6:30.

Seventh, If you can stand people, socialize. If not rescue a dog/cat.

Eighth, get into nature whether it’s your yard or beyond. Listen, smell, taste, feel.

Ninth, read, sing, act, listen to music, paint, garden. Participate and enjoy.

Tenth, ponder your spirituality. Practice kindness, civility and listening.

Eleventh, if you want have sex.

Twelfth, in your own way work to end war and poverty.

That’s it. If you are a witch doctor or know one add a few tid bits.

Enjoy!
